WORSHIP: A WAY OF LIFE by Marge Melendez

“…Take your everyday, ordinary life - your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life - and place it before God as an offering…."    Romans 12:1 (Message)
To be a Christian is a 24/7 condition.  Christianity is not a garment to be put on and taken off.  A Christian lifestyle goes beyond the church doors and permeates into every area of our lives.  It is an attitude developed by a commitment to God.  It is a lifestyle that puts others first and inspires inner peace and fortitude to go about our day, even as we frequently send up one-liners to God.
This way of life starts in the early hours of the morning when we make worship-time for God, surrendering ourselves to Him anew.   We recognize that it is our greatest privilege to enjoy God’s presence.  During this devotional time, we request God to guide us throughout the day.
When we learn to begin our day by putting the Lord first, we take the Lord’s presence with us all through the day.   While blending work and play with prayer, we discover that  He is our Teacher, our Philosopher and Companion, and our gentle, kind, and very Best Friend.    We have an increased awareness that God is with us wherever we go.  We discover Him anew in the common places of our lives, places that we thought we had to travel alone.  We may not realize it beforehand, but He was close by even when we felt lonely or sad.  Our day may have seemed bleak and dreary without a ray of hope – yet everything brightened as we discovered His presence.
Worship anew.  Listen to Him through the Bible. Talk to Him frequently in prayer.  Look for Him in your circumstances. Seek Him – for He is with you where ever you go.
 M.M.
Think about it:  Be faithful – and leave the results to God.
